GYXIS CORPORATION (Head office: Minato, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Takayuki DOI) began long-term charter of a large refrigerated LPG carrier, Genesis River, on November 20. The ship has been newly built at Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.’s Sakaide Works and will be chartered by GYXIS from Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. On November 2, under clear fall skies, a grand naming ceremony was held with many stakeholders in attendance. The ship features excellent propulsive performance and low fuel consumption, and is equipped with a ballast water treatment system to protect the marine ecosystem. Its addition to our fleet will further enhance GYXIS’s transportation capacity, allowing us to make further contributions to the stable supply of LPG by responding to the increasing diversity of supply sources.
