On April 10, at Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd.’s Sakaide Works, GYXIS CORPORATION (Head office: Minato, Tokyo; President and Representative Director: Fumiaki NOKURA) and Kumiai Navigation (Pte) Ltd., with whom it has concluded a time charter contract, held a grand naming ceremony for the large refrigerated LPG carrier “Pyxis Pioneer.” In addition to its excellent propulsion performance and low fuel consumption, the ship is equipped with a SOx scrubber (sulfur oxide exhaust gas purifier) to comply with marine environmental regulations that will come into force in January 2020. By strengthening our fleet while striving to reduce our environmental impact, we will facilitate the diversification of our supply sources, further contributing to the stable supply of LPG.
